FS16 F3 & FS16 B2
Original colors:
- Black FS16 B2 #1 and FS16 F3 #1
- Dull Blue FS16 B2 #2 and FS16 F3 #2
- Red FS16 F3 #3
Lay the border around the outside of your room. B2 #1 followed by B2 #2. The small holes (register marks) will guide you both in the continuous placement of the units and in the overlay of the second piece. Before you obscure #2 with paint, align stencil #2 on top of stencil #1. With an indelible pen, trace 3 motifs from stencil #1 onto the mylar of the stencil #2. These tracings will be your registration marks when you are ready to place and paint stencil #2. Once the border is completed, proceed with the floor pattern.
Because pattern FS16 F3 #1 was and is slightly out of alignment, the best way to handle it is as follows:
| 1. |
Snap parallel lines at 12 1/8" from the central point of your floor. |
| 2. |
On the patterns themselves, with an indelible pen, mark “TOP” to assure consistent placement. |
| 3. |
On pattern FS16 F3 #1, extend the trajectory of the diamond dashes through their centers a fraction of an inch until they intersect on all corners. |
| 4. |
Where these lines intersect at the top of the top diamond and the bottom of the lower diamond, draw a line from one intersection through the two diamonds to the other. You will use this line in placing the patterns on the chalk lines which you have spaced 12 1/8" apart on your floor. |
| 5. |
Consistent placement of the top of your mylar as well as aligning the dashed intersections on the sides of your diamonds will guide you in your placement. |

FS16 F3 #2 |
| 1. |
Place the second pattern FS16 F3 #2 (the bouquets of flowers) within the empty diamonds created by FS16 F3 #1 and center it as well as you can. (Remember, this represents a hand painted pattern and exhibits such irregularities of design.) |
| 2. |
Before you obscure FS16 F3 #2 with paint, align stencil FS16 F3 #2 on top of stencil FS16 F3 #1. With an indelible pen, trace 3 motifs from stencil FS16 F3 #1 onto the mylar of the stencil FS16 F3 #2. These tracings will be your registration marks when you are ready to place and paint stencil FS16 F3 #2. While you’re at it, do the same procedure with FS16 F3 #3 over FS16 F3 #1. |
