Press, Events & Bio
Early American Decoration is in my blood. Historic stencils have become my passion.
My formal education started in 1968 apprenticing under Jessica Bond of Dorset, VT. Jessica was a master craftsman with the Historical Society of Early American Decoration, (HSEAD) and a well known researcher of wall stenciling. Upon her retirement, I followed in her footsteps.
These 40 years I have enjoyed the niche market of historic stencils.
My daughter, Vivian, is my CFO and much, much more. My son, Ken, and his wife, Gwenith, have their own business making high-end canvas floor cloths on the west coast. Ken and I have stenciled two houses for Bob Vila; one on Cape Cod and one here in Quechee, VT. I recently painted a mural in the Rufus Porter style in the oldest house in Norwich, VT.
Today I continue my craft plus research, restore or reproduce authentically old stenciling, lecture, and continue to compile collections.
I hope you enjoy my collection.
