"This property was deeded to Daniel Kingsbury in 1829..." (It is likely that the stenciling was done at this time.) "Although there are touches of a pale brick-red in the flowers of the sprays and in the wicker baskets, the green of the frieze, borders and uprights against a white ground and the predominance of green in the panel motifs give a quality of peculiar freshness to this room."
